Market manipulation will end badly

Politicians, academics and regular citizens alike to preach the benefits and even glories of our democratic and “free enterprise” systems. Yet, no one seems to be outraged by the overt market manipulation of forced low interest rates which for practical purposes force a deeply troubled economy ever upward in the same manner that the almost free money for mortgage loans forced real estate values ever upward until – reality sunk in. A free enterprise system would not manipulate interest rates but allow them to fall where they may in a open supply and demand system.

I think in the years ahead, Bernake will go down in history as engineering a worst financial implosion than what we now know was Greenspan’s ineptitude during his reign of financial terror.

Do not be lulled into mindless optimism because some markets advance beyond fundamental and technical reason. The potential for an economic implosion similar or even greater than the 2006-2010 “recession” is very real, very probable.

The boy who cried wolf too often was eventually ignored when the danger of the wolf became real. Those who have warned a bear market is coming will be ignored when the reality sets in. At the least, be constantly vigilant, aware and protected in the event of a protected bear trend not just in the stock market but the economy and business in general. From my point of view, it is inevitable.

Book Rec: The Great Cholesterol Myth

Topics: Uncategorized

This is completely unrelated to trading, but I want to pass on a book recommendation that may provide you with critical information and maybe save your life.

If you have bought in to many of the cholesterol myths, like I had, and believe your cholesterol is “too high”, catch up on the latest research and learn about cholesterol and its relationship to your health.

If you are taking statin drugs or have been recommended to do so by your doctor, I beg you, read The Great Cholesterol Myth (Jonny Bowden / Stephen Sinatra). It was recently published. There are other books about the reality of cholesterol but this one is new, very thorough and very readable. You will probably know more about cholesterol than your doctor after reading it.

Get educated. Take charge of your health.

Nasdaq Setup

The Nasdaq is very near the ideal technical position to make a weekly high.

Today’s high (Feb. 11) is just a few ticks below two key resistance and EOW price levels.
Do you know what they are? If you’ve read the book you do.

Should the high to a temporary high in a larger degree bull trend or a corrective high followed by a resumption of a larger degree bear trend?

Which one and why?

What if the daily closing signal that would indicate a corrective high is complete?
